Mr. Shaub's martial arts passion began at seven years old when his parents enrolled him in his first class. In the last twenty years, he has built a career on being a skilled athlete as well as a talented instructor. He enjoys the daily interactions with children and families; providing students with the confidence and tools they will need to succeed in the future. Mr. Shaub takes great pride in his students and is grateful to be able to impact the community around him in such a fashion.
Mr. Shaub began his training under Master Randy Beck on the east side of Madison in early 1992. While it was not always easy, he and his family made it a goal for him to earn his black belt. On February 28, 1998 Mr. Shaub earned his first degree black belt at the age of 12. Competitively Mr. Shaub has continued to be a part of the North American Sport Karate circuit (NASKA) for over a decade. He individually places top in the nation and as part of Team Infinity has brought home a dozen World Championships, including the US Open and winning the Triple Crown in 2012.
Many instructors have had influence on Mr. Shaub's martial arts development. His experience spans from traditional Tae Kwon Do and Karate, Okinawan and Sport Weaponry, Extreme Martial Arts (XMA), Jiu-Jitsu and self defense systems, just to name a few. This level of martial arts experience coupled with Mr. Shaub's motivating and exciting teaching style has helped him produce not only talented martial arts competitors, but also the solid young leaders. Mr. Shaub has long recognized the positive character qualities developing in students as they pursue their goals. He cultivates these qualities in students through personal attention and positive reinforcement. Seeing a shy student make friends, or child who struggles to make good grades get the right answer; this sort of achievement has long been what gives him the most gratification.
