I was looking for Zumba classes, and I thought it would be nice to sign-up my 6 year old for karate classes. There was barely anyone there, but they had such an attitude! As in, they were doing me a favor. I decided to just sit and watch a what seemed like a laughable karate class... Thats why our gym is EMPTY! lol!

Really??

their collective knowledge of the subject matter is extremely(!) limited. Considering that generally speaking most folks that walk through the door have not practiced shotokan for more than a couple of years (or none at all!), that is just not apparent until its too late. So, don't think that their know their stuff because they act the part (seems like that at Tiger Schulman's too)

However, setting aside their lack of knowledge (1st degree black belt is Sensei..??lol! I guess that title means nothing anymore...), it's the traditional values of the art of karate-do (that they so warmly support), that they know so little about... Ask THEIR Sensei...

Of course, none of the above matters if you're joining for the Zumba classes...

Ya get what you pay for...really good quality team, location and place. I cant believe that my son learned so much in the short time he's been attending. He even practices at home, that to me proves these guys know what they are doing. JB-

My son has always had issues with staying focused and also has a short temper. After a few weeks of going to classes at New Roc Shotokan Karate-Do, I noticed a huge improvement! He's trying to keep his temper under control and is beginning to care more about his schoolwork. I love how the staff encourages the children to do well in school and teaches them little life lessons. It's really heartwarming to see how the senseis are role-models to all the students and are welcoming and friendly to everyone who steps in the door. Great job guys!

Friend of mine recommended me to check this new martial arts spot in New Rochelle, next to New Roc Movies. Was a little skeptical at first but these guys are the real deal, real "old-skool" with a little flavor. The energy with the team flowed really nice. They also spoke to me about their yoga and zumba work-out classes, gonna hit that up next. good to see a place that sticks to its roots!!

It's always interesting to see a dojo remain true to it's inherent core, that being discipline, challenging and educational. I took a 1 hr free session and it was worth it's weight in gold! The facility was new, clean, and very welcoming. As a beginner I thought it was going to be hard to keep up, but the instructors made it an enjoyable workout all the while promoting self defense health and awareness. I was also amazed to see how many little kids they have and how disciplined they were. I wish this place good luck as they seem to have the proper formula for success!!!
