They spend half the class warming up. Belts are given bi-monthly so long as you show up to about 2 classes a week. A true martial arts academy makes you earn your belt. They also mix kids and adult classes together. They are good guys and they will teach your kids to respect authority, but you wont win a cage fight or Jujitsu tournament with this level of instruction

This is a professional school with disciplined instruction and great staff. My child really enjoys it and we are much happier with it than other places he had previously been to in the area.
New River Jujitsu has been great for me, as a 50-something adult. I took various introductory martial arts classes is college, e. g., Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo, Goju Ryu (w Kimo Wall Sensei), and Jodo, in the 80s. I've always wanted to take more training after college, however, life got in the way. Until, this year, 2022, when I found New River Jujitsu. I looked online and found this school and it is/was just what I needed. They treat me as an individual, they are patient and encouraging, they answer my questions, and I feel welcomed. Master Ric, and his instructors, teach the basics, but they also teach techniques that can be used defensively, and offensively, if the need ever arises, right out of the gate. I have taken four classes and I hope to continue for the rest of the year and beyond. -NJC
