I have dedicated most of my life to Shihan Lazarus and the Karate he teaches. I am the man I am today because of this dojo. I have always felt challenged not only to improve my performance, but also to be a better person, to work for the good of humanity. In this school, the consistent emphasis on continual quality improvement, attention to detail and cultivation of perseverance in the warrior spirit, all taught within the framework of a traditional martial art, have the ability to permeate all of life, with applications both far-reaching and profound.

In a time when martial arts schools are almost completely dominated by MMA gyms and "Traditional Karate" dojos that have gone so far into the sports realm that the arts have little to no practicality left, Shihan Lazarus is part of a dying breed.

Since 1980 he has been teaching authentic Shorin Ryu Karate the way he was taught. The techniques have a strong base in physiology and body mechanics, and students also learn about Okinawan history, culture, and traditions to put it all into context.

If you are looking for something more than just what is in fashion right now and would rather learn an art that has stood the test of time but is still viable today, there are few instructors in all of New England with more experience and better credentials than Shihan Lazarus.
