Missouri Karate Association

Our Dojo is run by International and National Champions in Traditional Shotokan Karate. Founded by 3 brothers who have been training in Shotokan Karate all of their life, with a specialty in Self Defense and Sparring.

In our martial art and especially our dojo we have very high standards in terms of our students and do not give belts away; while also having a welcoming and family-like atmosphere.

Our head Sensei, Barry Power, is a 3rd degree (Sandan) black belt. He received his Shodan (1st degree) & Nidan (2nd degree) ranking in 1993/1998 respectively by Nishiyama Sensei and his Sandan (3rd degree) ranking by Smaby Sensei in 2005. Barry F. Power is a five-time U.S. national champion and multiple-time International Medalist.

Programs & Class Schedule

We offer 6 different types of classes: Youth Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced & Adult Beginners/General as well as a Family Class.

In our youth classes, we start as young as 4.
Our Intermediate classes start at age 8 and our advanced typically no younger than 10.
