Not recommended. Spend your $'s someplace good.

As others have said, this place is geared heavily to kids. There's also a heavy focus on tournaments. But, somehow, it feels like you are more of just a sparring partner for the "real" champion(s).

The kids program at this place pails in comparison to other local programs that actually "teach" self confidence and respect - not just a handing out participation trophies/certificates.

Great martial arts school

As someone that attained a BB in TKD years ago, Meng’s Martial Arts exceeds my expectations as a great school. I’ve learned so much about myself and how to be a good practitioner of the art. It’s changed my life for the better. I’m in better shape, I deal with changes in life and understand how to achieve success.

I have a BB in BJJ from an other school but had to move because of my job. This place is a complete waste of time for any serious adult wanting to learn a martial art. They seem geared toward kids.

All sales and marketing

I wanted MMA training. The lady in the office spent time telling me about all the benefits of their school and how I could train to become an MMA fighter. I decided to give it a try.

I mean no disrespect to the owners. They seem very nice. But, they flat out lied. They only had ground work scheduled for once a month. They called it something like "ground week" or "earth week". The other weeks were on other topics. You can't become a MMA fighter if you only do ground work once a week!

I didn't go back after about two months of wasting my time/money. I found a good school (that actually teaches what they say) and never looked back.

Not a good place to study Martial Arts

My children were attending classes here. As others have said, the place is in disrepair. There are at least one or two spots in the mats where they've marked it off because the mat is gone underneath the covering and there's nothing but concrete. They still allow children to train close to the dangerous area(s)! When one of my kids' head came close to hitting the bare spot one day while they were doing "take downs", I decided we'd had enough.

Geared to beginners.

I made advanced rank in this school (almost black belt/sash). Classes are geared for beginners and taught by people with no classes of their own. There are no regular advanced classes at Meng's Martial Arts in Huber Heights, Ohio.

The school is poorly maintained. The floor mats are damaged/dangerous in spots.

I just stopped going because every class (even the advanced ones) were just beginners classes. In hindsight, what a waste of time/money.

There are better places.

I have an ongoing background in traditional Karate and wanted to give my kid a chance to see what martial arts is all about. This place was close and had a large kid's program. So we signed up.

Summary:

The facility is in disrepair and seems neglected by the owner.

The instruction, reflected in the students, wasn't very impressive. There weren't a lot of advanced ranks around; lots of beginners thought. (Not a good sign. )

The classes are haphazard and cumbersome. Constant mixing of adults and children cheats both.
