There are plenty of reputable martial arts places in Rhode Island and this is not one of them. They are all about getting as much money as they can from you. If you can pay, you can pass onto the next belt, simple as that. They preach integrity but don't live by it at all.

This school is all about money. They are good sales people who
once they have you on contract, you can't get away. They
promote people and children to black belt that shouldn't.
If you are thinking about going here turn in the other
direction and run!

Mastery Martial Arts is a very expensive place with hidden costs at every turn. Belt testing is every two months and costs 60 dollars each time. They sell equipment at a much higher cost than can be purchased elsewhere. It seems like every week they are selling something else or asking for money for some reason. The staff is excellent and caring but the mission of the place seems to figure out how many different things they can charge for. There is also a heavy emphasis on weapons, which was not what we were told when we signed up. Waiting for our membership to expire so we can go elsewhere.
