**BUYER BEWARE - DON'T PAY IN ADVANCE UNLESS YOU ARE ABLE TO AFFORD TO LOSE IT** In 2012, I paid Master Hwang $4, 869 in February 2012 for the black belt program (3 year program) for me and my son. Rather than do monthly payments, MH gave me a discount to pay in full up front. In November 2013, the Chesapeake Dojang closed due to mold issues. MH and the strip center landlord debated over who was responsible for remediation of the mold issue. While MH did offer for us to go to the Suffolk Dojang, we did could not spend 2 hours a day traveling to TKD classes. MH decided to close the Chesapeake Dojang and kept telling me that he would refund my money once he settled the lawsuit with the strip center landlord. I continually followed up with MH for 2 years trying to get a refund and he decided not to answer my emails or return my calls. So I am beginning the process to share my poor experience with MH TKD. Since I am out the $1, 893. 50, I will be sure to warn other potential clients to look for martial arts training with an instructor who has better business ethics.

Military families should caution themselves before entering into a contract with this establishment. Contract clearly states that cancellation of contract can be done based on relocation clause if you move outside of 25 miles of location, but we have had difficulty canceling this contract when we PCS'd. Our efforts to cancel our son's contract and get reimbursed for credit card charges went unanswered until charges were finally put into dispute with our credit card company. I would expect professionalism and due diligence by a business first, because reviews and word of mouth are essential to a good reputation, but especially when dealing with a military family who moves on a regular basis as the government dictates. Unfortunately, not everyone does the right thing, and in our case, shame on Master Hwang's TKD for not being professional and doing right by this military family. Bad reviews and an F rating with the BBB is not good business practice..........

I signed my son for the 3 year program. The reason why i chose the three year program instead of the one year was because i was promised unlimited classes per week and the one year program had a limit of three. Even though i was not able to take my son to class the total six days a week, i was able to pick and choose since there was an abundance of classes until he changed the schedule while my son was out sick for two weeks and did not even courtesy call me.Later, i planned to take my son to class the day before easter when i find out that is it closed and there is a sign on the door hanging that says "Closed, will return at 12:00" the class for that day was scheduled for 11:20. He was a very nice man until he got what he wanted, the $3684 for tuition for 3 three years. After he received the money he stopped paying attention to my son's advancement and focused more on the students who were on his $19.99 "quickstart" program which is a total hoax by the way. He offers 1 one on 1 class and two group classes for $19.99.While you child is in these classes, he fills the child with dreams of being great and tells you that he or she did awesome so you as the parent are more incline into signing your child up for classes.While going through the paperwork he will not tell you how he will change the schedule and cut down classes to benefit him.He will also not tell you that he will choose to close only on the important holidays and that means only on the important ones to him; however, he will not notify you of which holidays these will we. He will never give you a courtesy call letting you know that the center is going to close nor he will write t on the notification board. He will only use this notification board when he wants you to know that he is having a babysitting party

Great instructor with alot of experience. Will push you per your individual potential.

Great school with maintained equipment , lots of scheduled time for classes of all types, and full floor mat.

Support of a large network of schools with a grand master leading them and well established curriculum while still operating independently.

Been to a few schools over the couse of my taekwondo experiance, this is the best.
