Martinez Academy of Arms
The Martinez Academy of Arms is a unique school distinguished by its living tradition of European swordsmanship. The mission of the academy is to teach, promote, and preserve these rare martial arts. Students come from all over the world to train at the Academy with dedicated professionals of a traditional fencing lineage. The academy offers instruction in over 15 weapons in the French, Italian and Spanish systems.
Maestro Ramón Martínez, the academy director is a traditional master of arms, teaching classical and historical fencing for the past 32 years. He is also the world's preeminent authority on the Spanish school of fencing La Verdadera Destreza. Maestro Jeannette Acosta-Martínez is the first master to enter the linage as a protege of Maestro Martínez. She is known internationally for teaching the French School of small-sword.
