I started with Sensei Valdes when I was only 4 years old. Since my Mom raised my sister and I by herself, Sensei was the only father figure I have always known in my life. He not only gave me my Authentic Shotokan Karate skills but he provided me with spiritual as well as philosophical guidance. I am very blessed that growing up with Sensei, I had the opportunities to successfully compete in National, International, Pan American and the Shoto Cup Championships. Our women’s team was the U.S. Women’s National Team 8 years in a row. I joined the military and just came back from my 3rd tour of duty. What else can I say but thank you Sensei Valdes for providing me with a very strong and stable foundation that definitely prepared me for what I had to go through these past 4 years. I love you, Sensei! OSS!

My children never cleaned their room but after starting karate lessons at the academy of Martial Arts Sacramento, I love coming home from work to an immaculate house with all their school work done as well! I just wished I discovered Academy of Martial Arts Sacramento earlier. My two sons were lured into joining a local commercial martial arts chain of 9 schools and were stuck into that system for 2 years. They are so disappointed and traumatized to learn that their black belts are nothing but a false sense of accomplishments. We tried to enroll at another school but was informed that my sons’ black belts were only good at the school chain where it was given and was worth nothing outside of that school. The Academy of Martial Arts Sacramento instructors are highly professionals that they worked with my 2 sons adjusting their level from white belt to expedite their progress in accomplishing international rank certification. They were told that it would take a lot of work and dedication but if they work diligently on anything, everything is possible! No shortcuts; just hard honest work is totally rewarding in all truth. My sons are very happy and honestly feel confident that they are now gaining authentic skills in true martial arts. I highly recommend Academy of Martial Arts to all parents and anyone looking for the best investment of time and money.

I trained under the late Sensei Enoeda who was one of the legendary Japanese instructors from Japan for more than 15 years in the UK before moving to America and I must say that Academy of Martial Arts Sacramento is just like home. They are professional and highly knowledgeable in authentic Shotokan karate of the original Japan Karate Association. This is truly the best authentic martial arts academy in Northern California. Their combined expertise is beyond compare to anyone of this time.
