The Marquez Martial Arts Academy is a dojo dedicated to teaching men, women, and children the San-Jitsu Ryu system. Taught as a practical martial art/self defense program in a safe, self-paced family environment, students are guided and encouraged to reach their full potential under the instruction of Shihan Chris Marquez.
Chris Marquez is a San-Jitsu practitioner with over 37 years of martial arts experience and over a decade of that time of instruction as a “disciple student” under the world renowned Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez. He credits the beginning of his martial arts training in Karate to Sensei Jonas Nunez Jr, in his hometown of the Bronx, New York. He continued martial arts instruction in the style of Wing Chun Kung Fu and during his military tour of duty he began training in Tae Kwon Do where he earned his 2nd Dan under Sensei Charles “Chuck” Coker. His most influential instructor is the world renowned Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez, Soke, 10th Dan, Judan in the Guamanian martial art of San-Jitsu. Currently, Shihan Marquez serves as the Director of Communications for the Jacksonville, Florida Headquarters (Hombu) San-Jitsu Dojo for Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez. He has been inducted into National and International Martial Arts Hall’s of Fame including the prestigious World Head of Family Sokeship Council. He has traveled with and for Grandmaster Sanchez representing San-Jitsu in the United States, Canada and Germany.
