Though listed as a "karate" school. Quest Martial Arts teaches Toshindo which is a modernized version of ninjitsu. They teach survival and self defense techniques based on realistic attacks. Having trained in other arts throughout the years, I find toshindo to be a complete answer to the "what if's" we face in defensive situations. Mark Russo also offers classes and seminars on mind science and meditation. Though I stick mostly to the physical, I have seen many folks benefit from the meditation side, as well. Mark Russo is a fantastic martial artist and has a great staff of instructors. There is something for everyone.....
I've been training here for over 10 years now. My friend originally introduced Mark Russo's Tampa Quest Center. I instantly fell in love with the art, i'm a practical, scientific mind set person. Which works incredibly well with this art, since there is a reason why you do anything here. You are not confined to just do it this way or a form 1b, or form 4c, etc. There is a freedom once you learn the principles of body position and bone alignment. Not needing to be bigger stronger faster. Saying all that we are also introduce you to mind-science which is the other part of being a ninja. Breaking up bodies is easy but dealing with ones own mind is by far a constant challenge we face. Whether we wish to admit it or not. Don't take my word for it, come check them out for yourself.
