I am very impressed with Jurgens Sensei's approach. The classes are well structured, and well-paced, to get the most out of the 90 minutes without overworking the students. He is able to work with people with varying skill levels easily. Current students range from white belts all the way to a visiting 5th Dan in a different style who comes in to train with the bo and sai. I can see the students getting better at the fundamentals from class to class, and that sets the foundation for everything else. My daughter was being pushed toward promotion to Second Degree Black Belt in his old school way too soon and now he has the chance to learn from first principles. I can’t believe this level of instruction is available at just $20 a month. If I had anything negative to say it would be that the classes are held in either a gym or a basement, so the space is not custom designed for karate with heavy bags or other equipment, but at these prices the overall value is fantastic.
