This school is very well organized. The staff is excellent and the management makes sure everyone knows what they are doing. The students are very friendly towards one another and there is a special emphasis on the practical uses of techniques. The building, while a little old, is very well equipped with a weight area and tatami room for Muay Thai, Boxing, and general MMA. The price is very reasonable as well.

The MMA instructors have real fight experience, the Karate teacher trained in Japan, and the Kung Fu teacher has a degree in Chinese Medicine, and the Self-Defense instructor has decades of experience teaching and working around dangerous individuals at the regional treatment facility! You can’t find better qualifications than that; they have all gone to the greatest efforts to learn and refine their understanding of their arts.
Equipment-wise this school offers much more than most. Not only are there the usual kicking shields and targets the school has several standing bags, a heavy bag, a nice weight area, and a separate room with real tatami mats for grappling work. With the space the school is able to run Kung Fu, Karate, and Ju Jitsu classes all at the same time with different instructors without getting in each other’s way.
I had the pleasure to train with the guys at Mankato Martial Arts for about four months. The MMA instructors are excellent. They have experience, talent and skill at all aspects of mixed martial arts. The instructors apply their teaching method to meet the needs of the students, so you don't have to be a talented athlete to train there. The school has trained multiple successful fighters who hold belts in MMA. The friendly atmosphere really motivates you to push your limits!
