Sensei Fredrick at Main Street DOJO has a unique teaching style that does not allow nonsense while having fun. If you are looking for a way for you and/or your child to get physical exercise while engaging their mind, then you have found the right place. Parents are welcome to stay during class and observe. This is a multigenerational dojo that is open to anyone willing to learn.

disciplined and fun

I thought my daughter would be the last girl who would want to join karate. but after a year and a half she is now a greenbelt an she LOVES IT!!! :)

My step son had been training at this dojo for years. My 7 year old started and I sat and watched for a couple months. Eventually I decided to sign up and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I am in the best shape I've been in for years and I enjoy the training immensely. Whether you're looking to get in shape or do some serious sparring, this is the place. The instructors have been in it for decades and know their stuff.

I absolutely love this place for my girls. They have the best price around and actually take the time to teach the kids the meaning of karate and don't just move them up in rank just to get a quick extra buck, they make you EARN it! They don't have the daycare part of it like most of the others and I like that about this place! The aren't focused if they have your child and 7 other kids homework done but the true art and defense of karate.

I highly suggest this course to everybody , I really mean everybody because bad things have to happen only once to you in a lifetime and the techniques and information can save you or your loved ones life. I hope you will continue to promote this training !

I attended the Self-Defense class because I didn't feel safe in my work neighborhood. I came out of the class with knowledge, confidence and a new found attitude. I learned techniques that didn't require alot of skill or bron. I learned what to look for in my environment, tactics to prevent me from becoming a victim and a new found confidence. I left my class feeling "empowered". I plan to attend another class to practice my techniques & improve my reflexes. I will not hesitate to do what I must to get free and save my life. I highly recomend this class to teen female students thru any aged woman you are never too young or old to protect yourself...If I can do it anybody can. Great class, patient, caring instructors who take time to make sure you understand the techniques and share vital statistical information along with great common sense tips.

I got so much out of the 4 hours of training. The techniques make so much sense and not complicated but need to be practiced for speed and confidence if confronted by an attacker. I've read the handout several times so as not to miss anything. Lots of great tips to kp you focused on your surroundings alof the time.

I look forward to coming back to take a refresher course.

I highly recommend the Self Defense class! I have already told my husband he is going to the next class. This is a course everyone should take now matter what age! I look forward to a refresher class.

It was an awesome class. Hands on instruction. This class is for everyone that wants to protect themselves if the occassion should arise. It gives you points to be aware of out in public. I plan to return to the next class and bring a friend of mine.

So much explained, demonstrated, practiced, and taught that you are guaranteed to walk out of the first class with at least 5 new things you can remember to help keep yourself safe.

I plan on attending the "free" classes so I can get my head to absorb all the techniques and information given. I hope to work with it to the point where my reaction is there vs. having to think what to do.

All the instructors were excellent - patient, informational, enduring our practice shots, and encouraging!

I am attending more and bringing as many friends as I can. I've already told my co-workers in my office they all need to attend!

The self defense class was very enlightening. The professionalism and expertise was worth every penny. I learned how to protect myself, as well as, feel safer each day knowing that I can do something to help PREVENT an attack. Thank you to all of the staff!!!

Its a true Karate dojo. We train hard, we work hard, and we win. USA Goju Karate is well known for staying true to karate traditions. The dojo is a focused environment that allows students to strengthen their mind and body.

This is a traditional style of karate. The workouts are intense and a great way to get in shape. I enjoy learning all the techniques and variations of moves. All of the instructors know what they are doing and have had many years of experience.

We couldn't be happier with the staff at Main Street Dojo! They do an excellent job of teaching our daughter and they teach her the "real" stuff! This isn't a babysitting center! Thanks guys.

Tai Chi class at this school is excellent, Yang style. Classes for Parkinsons Disease patients on Tuesday mornings are well attended. There is a new class on Tuesday evening for everyone.

Out of years of martial art training,I've never learned so much in such a short time.I look forward to each class I take,the instructors are wonderful! If your looking for a school to hurry an get your black belt,this isn't the school for you. Im very impressed,an Im honored to be apart of this school :)

The school focuses on learning, not like the typical pay to be promoted mentality. The workouts are great, instuctors are true teachers. The price is right! USA Goju is an awesome and highly revered in Martial Art circles.

This is a very good place to learn GOJU Karate. People who visit the school and watch a class will easily see that this is a different type of martial arts school. I enjoy every class I go to and look forward to the challenge of each class!!!! I highly recommend this school to any serious martial arts student.

The instructors of this school are very experienced and of the highest quality. You can't go wrong here.

This is not a school where you pay $1500 for a two year program to recieve a Black Belt that has no meaning and no real training. The belts you recieve here will be earned; and have more meaning because of that. Something that is very rare now days.

The students receive highly discipline training. With no doubt the students will be able to defend themself againts any harm.

I have witnessed the training first hand at Mainstreet Dojo and I am very impressed. The quality and attention the students receive are second to none. The students move along at their own pace with the techniques and skills. I feel safe that my son is learning the best martial art and will be able to take care and defend himself and others if necessary. The students learn what martial arts is supposed to teach; self defense, self discipline, self reliance, respect for self and others, self confidence and a sense of unity and belonging!

Main Street Dojo offers traditional USA GoJu training. Sensei Fredrick has been training under the direction of Sensei Macchione since 1983 and has had the pleasure of training and working with our many students. This new dojo is conviently located in the center of town and offers quality classes for both adults and children at an affordable rate.
