This instructor openly invited one of his students to come sign a waiver and fight with him. The student simply disagreed with him about politics. Look at all his responses on social media. His assistant’s instagram is full of racist proproganda targeted at African Americans.

I'm.from Japan and I have studie judo for many years.
Sensei Maguilla is very polite, and a true sensei.
The academy is similar to my judo dojo so I feel in home.

I'm from Brazil,I check few top schools in the area but never the Maguillas academy,until few months ago I did and all I can state is the place is just like Brazil no forms,no fantasy,no gimmick the professor got 30 years experience and he was taught by no other than Carlson Gracie Sr.
I enjoy very much in all aspects.

I'm about 9 months into my BJJ career, and I love Maguilla's academy. He sticks to the basics, while at the same time showing you things that know one else will. There are plenty of advanced students here, so I am constantly challenged.
Maguilla is super laid back and doesn't make you sign any contracts to attend. He charges a flat monthly rate, and you can come to a class or two for free, just to check it out.
If you're looking for jiu jitsu in the DC area, especially Silver Spring, definitely swing by Maguilla's Academy.

Maguilla is of absolute and pure lineage. He was a black belt when most people had no idea of what Jiu Jitsu is. Highly recommend popping by the school.
