Walking in was clear this school was meant for kids. The first 10 minutes or so were traditional hand strikes and blocks one move i learned was the knife hand strike after that two of the three blackbelts a teenager and man in maybe in this late forties did traditional katas these moves to me appeared to be more of a dance and not street practical afterwards i learned the first met a in taekwondo while the more advanced students did one step sparring or drilling i watched for a little while I saw that two different sized partners drilling the smaller did not adjust or move in to fix the distance between them. These moves seemed reasonable practical, a kid maybe five had a purple belt. While this was going a student got a private one on one lesson in the of. More katas took place for all then what I would call line sparring took place were two people would stand in a imaginary line using moves they learned they would push forward while the other moves back i noticed poor flexibility from ever student. Then mediation went for a minute . No contrast but no paying per class. I was told that it takes roughly 4 years to become a black belt and 3 for purple i can't say anything about there other classes, I learned the crane kick that day.
