Serious Kung Fu School

This isn't a sport-oriented school. Frank teaches a devastating, old-school, Indonesian-influenced, flavor of kuntao that challenges you physically and spiritually. He's been teaching for years, and his commitment is unquestionable. Meet us in the back of the gym on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I am one of the newer students, only been going about three months or so but I've really enjoyed the class. The instructor has been very accommodating to everyone's skill level whether it be a beginner like me, someone with some martial arts experience, or those who have extensive martial arts backgrounds. Today was my favorite day of class thus far where we did a lot of cardio drills to warm up, followed by some one on one boxing drills and then learned some throws. It was empowering to learn how to throw someone if you're ever in a bad situation. The instructor is also very attentive about where individuals need more work and where they are making improvements. Compared to other schools, its also a steal at $80 a month. Definitely worth the investment.

Been in Korean martial arts since 2001. I earned a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, was a national competitor in forms, a national referee for years. I always had one lingering question - could I survive a real fight? After I tore my third ACL I put TKD on the shelf for good. The answer to my lingering question as a beginner at Liu Seong is no for now, but I know the answer soon will be yes with effort, blood sweat and tears on the mat. Frank's teaching style, knowledge and technique are for real. Frank is an old school instructor and his teaching and methods are the best. So if you want to learn real fighting techniques look no further. This school is not about rank but effective footwork, knowledge, and technique the traditional way.

Before studying with Mr. Frank I mostly had a Tai Chi and boxing background. I've really enjoyed learning fundementals like footwork and balance. My favorite part is the intensity of the training, there's no replacement for working techniques with intensity and purpose.I highly recommend studying under Mr. Frank if you are serious about not just learning a martial art but also learning about it.

After attending several of Mr. Frank's seminars in upstate New York, I must say they are challenging and very insightful to the Liu Seong Royal Kung Fu (Chuan Fa/Silat) system. With a High intensity workout and training regiment with the same degree Mr. Frank taught me how to dig deep to move forward in this system. Mr. Frank's method of teaching is focused and to the point, followed up by encouraging words, he makes the class environment a professional place to learn this system.

I have been a student for a few years at this school and have come to here after previous years in Judo/Jujitsu, wanting to learn a striking art. I have stayed at this school as the instruction is both technical and class is great workout. Although there is a healthy amount of challenging and varied techniques the most emphasized part of training is good fundamentals, such as footwork. Other students are friendly, supportive, and train hard. The teacher, while focusing on his art, is open to new training practices and promotes cooperative cross training with other schools. Additionally the class meets at a professional gym that has good facilities and equipment.

I've known Mr.Frank for a few years and I most say with what I have learned is incredible. I come from another art(Japanese)and learning from him has enhanced my own fighting skills. Mr.Frank shows you that the basics count for a lot and will condition your body to be a fighter. He is old school; bleed in the school victory in a fight. Check him out you won't be dissappointed
