Non trustworthy and lack business skills

This gym has been trying to hide what they did to a student who was committed to them for 4 years. He went 6 days a week, hardly never missed a class, did work shops, cross training, and competed at NAGA. They keep removing reviews from facebook to keep this secret and their high rating. This child was bullied and by the color of his skin. The owners did nothing but talk to this child and his parents. This child is always being spoken to as his parents. Apparently if you pay for 2 kids vs 1 you or your child can do or act however you want with no repercussions except for the child who's being picked on. His mother had every right to be upset and if I was her I would have gone to the media. No one should be bullied in anyway especially their skin color!

Lacks discipline & structure

This gym has a high turnover rate, 350+. They however will blame it on children losing interest. Some of that may well be true and some is not. They may well have good technique but they lack discipline for a karate/MMA Gym. People show up late to class and children speak out or interrupt when the instructors are speaking. They allow other's to pick on other's with no repercussions. This happens in the afterschool program, their summer camp called Burgaw's Best and in the children's classes.

Do not take your child here

My coworkers 12 year old son was kicked out of this gym after 4 years of hard work. His mother is very passionate about him and how he is treated anywhere. Her son was bullied by another student and by the color or his skin. Apparently, this child is always talked to and his parents. This incident all owners did was talk to the bully kid again and his parents then they gave him a reward/stripe on his belt the same day! Supposedly, they failed to give this stripe to him before, that was the excuse they gave my coworker. The mother was extremely upset by this and how the child wasn't held accountable and how it showed her son that he couldn't depend on them. I have met her son when he comes to work with her, he is sweet, kind, and helpful and never gets into trouble. When she told him that he was no longer allow at the gym, he broke into tears! He say why did they do this to me, I trusted them. He messaged her all day begging her to go one last time to see his friends one last time. My heart breaks for this young man as he didn't deserve this. The owners should of handled the situation better and if they had her son would still be going there. I was going to try a free class but after this, I won't be! Making sure I tell my friends not to take their children here.

Nothing worse than being cold hearted to a child

When my grandson started at Lions Crest the owners will great, really worked well with the kids and made it fun while being fair and teaching discipline through martial artsI However as they have grown the kids who have been there from the beginning seem to be forgot about as far as learning new skills and being challenged. Recently it has become apparent the owners are playing favorites and not being fair in how they handle the kids. My grandson has been going to Lion's Crest for at least 4 years, recently there was an incident/behavior with another child multiple times that the owners did not handle properly. This upset my daughter who is one to speak her mind and expected positive results, instead, the opposite occurred where there were multiple excuses and a reward was give to the child in question opposed to discipline per guidelines they stated. . Today without warning they released my grandson from their gym, they didn't even have the common courtesy to tell him, which tells me they couldn't face him as this was not about him instead was about something entirely different and they allowed him to take the fall. I am thoroughly discussed and displeased at how they as business owners take this approach and hurt a child. They call themselves Christians but this behavior is not Christian like at all. Finally, I will search Goggle for every website that list them and post a review as my grandson deserves better.
