Traditional Shotokan Karate with 40+ years experience and a certified Renshi. Still in contact with the Mother Dojo's in NYC. Work with ADD/HD & Special Needs for better FOCUS and DISCIPLINE, FITNESS & REHABILITATION for many disabilities. I am 3rd Generation Shotokan. Renshi Rick Smith is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan and 5th degree in Kenpo. A former US National USAKF Champion and International Medalist. Renshi Smith himself became disabled after an accident and accredits his training in Karate for walking to this day and not in a wheel chair as predicted years ago. Classes are small so students get more one on one time with the Instructor. New classes form as needed. The Legend Gates offers flexibility in both training schedules that work with your day to day life. Testing is based on each persons personal goals set. There is no time limits and all rank are earned.

Programs & Class Schedule
Mondays and Friday from 5 pm to 6 pm, all classes are listed on facebook for updates and events. Kumite classes extend from 6-630. New classes added as needed for new joining students.
We are one of the few Traditional schools in Vermont that will train under 18 as well as adults, Special Needs and more together.
Legend Gates Shotokan Karate is a NON PROFIT Dojo where the funds go back to the school and students first. Renshi Smith donates his time to teach each week.
The Dojo is about reaching each students goals and teaching to families and small groups of friends together as well as individual training and private classes available upon request.
All Prospect Students get 2 weeks free trial period with NO CONTRACTS or AUTO BILLING.. After the trial period you can pay either $10 a class until you are sure this is for you or the standard $50 a month $75 for 2.
We are known to work with all families so their child can train, we are not a money school or a belt mill. at the Legend Gates quality teaching comes before quantity. Belt ranks are never gauranteed and are always earned, it takes 3-6 months to test for your first belt and can take from 5-8 years to test for Shodan or 1st degree Black Belt.
New classes forming for all categories to open on new days and hours above the mentioned already. I can offer more classes but I can only teach 6-8 max at one time due to the Dojo size.
