Stay away- money hungry

Stay away from LCTA. The Lees provide a program of smoke and mirrors and charge outrageous prices. They are master manipulators and will suck every penny they can out of you. The instruction is poor- it's basically a dojang where you buy your belts instead of earning them. I also- over my 4 years at LCTA- saw both Master Lee and Mrs. Lee be outright cruel to kids. It's not a healthy environment- although they will trick you into thinking its fantastic until you sign a contract with them. After the contract is signed, the bullying and abuse begins.

Premium Price for Sub-Par Training

I have trained in several forms of martial arts for the last 25yrs (Shotokan, Taekwondo, and Kung Fu). I want my children to have the same level of respect and self-confidence that I believe my training has helped me to achieve, so I sought out a school catered to children. The price was very steep compared to other dojos, but he makes a good sales pitch "you get what you pay for."

Unfortunately that was not the case. Parents are encouraged to participate, and I quickly decided someone needed to "babysit". Children were randomly running around and kicking hitting - there wasn't a single time without a crying child. Mr. Lee's only discipline was blind threats off reducing rank or banishment from the dojo. The trouble makers were still there when my contract was up, so I didn't renew and am looking elsewhere.

I wouldn't consider it as an adult either. I suspect there is a large profit motive for rank testing (I have never seen so many belt levels...seriously - a striped white belt??) I took a few videos of black belts practicing kicks; it would be rather embarrassing to own a dojo where black belts can't perform a simple round house or front kick to the head.

Lee's Champion Taekwondo Academy in Shoreview is a great place for kids and adults to be a part of something special. Students learn focus, discipline, self defense and how to have a positive attitude! Master Lee is a very experienced and dedicated instructor. A wonderful school where kids learn skills that help them in school and in life. A very well liked school because people learn martial arts and have a good time too.

LEE'S CHAMPION

TAEKWONDO ACADEMY

I attended Master Lees school in Burnsville, school closed do to lack of business. I like Master Lee's schools  philosophy, their teachings, and the fact their forms are from The World Taekwondo Federation in Korea. I think they have an excellent school for kids and adults. I searched for new school. I  have not been able to find a school with the quality as Master Lees school, that I am looking for. Master Lees credentials speak for them self.

As far as the Master I had in Burnsville, I thought we were becoming friends, I helped him out with his car.  I also sold him a brand new elliptical machine that originally sold for about $1,400. I had two. One still new in box. I sold elliptical to this master for $400.00 less then I could have sold it.  I delivered it and assembled it. He  gave me $100.00 and said that is all he had, he asked if I would take rest of payment in private lessons, I didnt want to,  but  agreed. He wanted to bring another student to my house, I didn't want any one else at my home, I spent a couple hundred dollars on floor mats. This  master never paid me nor gave me private lessons.  And he avoided my calls and emails and moved. This  master in Burnsville had called me a few times and asked if I would not come to class, because he had to pick up his wife.   I was cheated out of a few classes. This master no longer works for Master Lee after closing of Burnsville school.

Master Lee had no knowledge of any of this. Master Lee's school is the best school around that I have been able to find. I highly recommend it. If I lived closer to his Shoreview school, I would attend.
