Reviews of Larrea Mixed Martial Arts

I have been attending Larrea's for a year and the classes are very good. I love the fight techniques he shows and I like when Senpi Mike or Senpi Hanna does the strength and conditioning class. I usually do doubles 3 days a week and I am just ecstatic with the energy everyone brings to the class. Sensie Larrea is a straight shooter if you tell him you want to lose 10 lbs or you want to do a muay thai fight he will tell you straight up what you need to do to get there. There is no sugar coating in this school. the best part about this place are the fight nights we go to when one of the fighters has a kickboxing or muay thai fight I went to 2 already they so much fun!

When I first started here I was a bit scared, but the staff made me feel good and encouraged me to do my best. I was over weight and a smoker. Larrea MMA convinced me to live a healthy life style in order to advance my self. To this day I have lost 45lbs I no longer smoke and I eat healthy. The classes are fun and non intimidating. The prices are a bit high compared to other places in the area but you defenetly get what you pay for here. I'm part of the family program I do kickboxing while my kids do karate. Sensei is strict but very kind and approachable and as you get to know him he treats you like a friend or like he says family, but he pulls no punches on the mat he will encourage you but he will also be straight with you and tell you what you need to work on and push you if your being lazy. Same thing with the kids he's not like this generation of parents that lets kids do what they want and is a cheer leader, he is a drill sergeant and disciplinarian but he is also a goof ball and kind hearted with them and the kids get it and you can not complain with the results he produces. I've seen kids in the class that don't listen and are lazy then I will see the same kids a few weeks later and they are listening focusing and the parents are amazed. I would recommend this school to anyone who is serious about martial arts, fitness and discipline. I would not recommend this place for people who are not serious about changing them selves for the better. The results speak for them selves.

Ive been doing the MMA class here since the school opened Sensei Larrea is a great teacher and has a great knowledge of the martial arts. He has helped me and so many other students over the years. The class is great it works your BJJ and MT there is sparring and so much more. I have actually grown close to him and his family over the years and he makes you feel like family.

I just joined the Muay Thai program, it's awesome I like the great instructors. Hanna and Gus are very helpful and motivating. I've lost a few pound and have learned some great techniques.

Careful with this sensei. I found out he has a bad temper and horrible way of handling things. His ex wife put a restraining order on him, his daughters mother called the police on him for being a threat. He has more than one record. Most of this info was on the Internet but sensei removed it. I removed my kids from this school because I will never pay an animal. Very disgusting and disappointed

I love it here this place rocks great MMA and jiu jitsu program! Great instructors ! Fantastic knowledge about all aspects of self defense !

My child and I go to this school I take the mixed martial arts program which allows me to take kickboxing and MMA and my son does the kids karate. The Teachers are great and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

I've just started training here but I gotta tell ya Larrea know his stuff. I've trained in a few gyms before and it's hit or miss as far as the instructors go but Sensei Larrea is friendly and goes through things step by step and is patient with you. Gym is not big but it's got everything you need. Thai bags comfortable mat and good training partners. Great for people who are looking to get good training.

My son has been going to this school since it has open Gus Larrea is one of the most honarable and Genuine teachers I have ever met. He understands how to teach kids and is great with the parents this school over all is just a great find in the village of east rockaway.

Great school great teacher My entire Family goes here The kids classes are fantastic Kickboxing for myself is awesome and my husband cant get enough of the MMA classes. Sensei Larrea and his staff are great.

The kickboxing program is good, but the owner and instructor of the school is a woman and child abuser. He is a violent man. His wife has a civil restraining order against him. My mom and I have a criminal restraining order of protection against him. He is currently attending a batterers intervention program. He made a plea to avoid 60 days jail time to get a misdemeanor instead of a felony in his record. Child protective services found him guilty of endangering our child. He had been involuntarily picked up by the police and brought to a mental institution for suicidal ideation. This man is verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive. I have documents for my claims. Do you want to learn from a woman and child abuser? Do you want your kids to be taught by someone who is mentally unstable, volatile, and a bully?..
