Kyokushin Karate North Carolina(KKNC) is the official branch in North Carolina of the I.K.O. KYOKUSHINKAIKAN Organization in Tokyo, Japan headed by Kancho(President) Shokei Matsui. Sensei Kenny Buffaloe is the North Carolina Representative of the International Kyokushin Karate Organization since 1980. Buffaloe was a direct student of Shihan Shigeru Oyama, a world famous Karate master from Japan. Shihan Oyama was the best student of Sosai(Grandmaster) Masutatsu Oyama, the legendary founder & creator of the Kyokushin style of Karate.
Sensei Buffaloe is featured regularly in many leading martial arts publications, on T.V. & Radio talk shows, action videos, and several motion pictures including the popular "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie from the early 1990's.
Sensei Kenny Buffaloe works very hard to spread and develop Kyokushin in the state of North Carolina. In addition to many demonstrations, seminars, workshops, and training camps, Sensei Buffaloe also teaches weekly Kyokushin training classes in Roanoke Rapids and Murfreesboro in northeastern North Carolina.
KKNC is a sub-branch of the Kyokushin New York Dojo headed by Shihan Katsuhito Gorai, a member of the International Commitee of the I.K.O. Kyokushinkaikan and USA Shibucho(Branch Chief).
