My son has been taking the class since it began at the Berea Rec Center. He intends to continue all the way to his black belt. I appreciate that it is well priced and that it doesn't focus on trophies and showmanship, but on the art of self defense and discipline. He has benefited greatly from the class and it gives him a sense of pride every time he advances a belt. I also began taking the adult class and have learned a great deal about self defense. It is a great source of exercise as well. I would highly recommend this class to any child or adult looking to take martial arts.

I am former student here and this place is great! I received lots of training that helped prepare me for mentally and physically for when I entered the military. Whenever I needed help with something, the instructors will work with you 1 on 1 to make sure you are learning everything. A great place to study Hapkido!

Our son enjoys this martial arts school and wants to go all the way to his black belt. He has definitely benefited from it. We like that the emphasis not on competition but on mental discipline and learning the art as a form of self-defense (when to use it and when not to).

Fun adult class leaves you wanting to learn more

I have been with the adult class since it's inception and intent to stay with it as long as I am living in the area. Practical and efficient techniques taught at a fair pace, all in a lighthearted environment that encourages you to learn and push yourself. Little equipment is involved or needed. Though the class lacks access to large floor mats for more frequent/serious throws and break-fall practice. There is also a yearly Hapkido conference that Master Plechaty and any interested students have begun going to where multiple schools gather to practice together and share their different techniques.
