I normally NEVER write a review on or about anything. Really for no other reason but I 'm lazy. However, I just happen to have some time tonight. I moved to Mass from Ca. a few yrs ago About a year before I moved I had stated BJJ and I loved it. Before I left my Instructor told me to take the time and really checkout ANY school especially the instructor(s) before joining. When I first moved things were crazy, new job, new area. Before I knew it a year had passed before I started looking for a school. Which wasnt as easy as it was the first time. When I first started training I joined the same school as my friend so it was easy. Being here in Mass I had no clue where to go. The only schools I recognize had "Gracie" in it.
Folks I spent ALOT of time researching schools. It came down to a few schools. Which only Boston Bjj and Kimura USA had long verifiable established historys along with Head Instructors that ACTUALLY lived in the USA and were certified in all the necessary "Federations" that reallys means rank is recognized (Hey it matters lol)
I decided on Kimura because of what my 1st instructor had told me was IMPORTANT location, Instuctors experience and background and lastly Tournament successes which Kimura has a very long and successful history. So
That what brought me to Kimura North Andover / Lawrence. Go on the internet and google the instructors "Bill Duffy, retired police ofc who also worked in a jail and presently 1st degree blackbelt. Only the 2nd American promoted by Kimura USA founder Jean Kleber 4th degree blackbelt. He teaches with his son Mike Duffy a Brown belt. .
