22 years in law enforcement and have seen plenty of bad situations . Mr. Duncan teaches real deal fighting methods . Go take everywhere you can visit and then take a class from him . .that's where you will stay in martial arts training if you want to really learn the good stuff.

I dont really care what Duncan teaches but there is no man anywhere with this name. and if there was how can Duncan trademark or allow or disallow people to teach his style, and guess what if I want to learn kadaka style karate all I have to do is walk a few blocks down the street to another school where the is a black belt in it. i don't know if he calls it kadaka or not but it is the same thing.

I started my family in classes at Master Duncan's this month and we are so excited . ..he's the most professional teacher I have ever studied under and his teaching method is super in every way. ....There is nothing but positive results at his dojo . ..I can see why he's the highest priced dojo in town. ..but like they say "You get what you pay for" . Come and visit just one class and I guarantee you will enroll at his dojo.

I had attended a seminar with Mr. Duncan this month in Shelby NC. . and was amazed at his teachings and skill he's a very humble man but a super martial artist. . . I plan to start taking classes with him in Lincolnton. As a law enforcement officer I think his techniques and style will be the most beneficial for my job and the dangers i could face.

For the haters that dislike Master Duncan here are some facts I found as a news reporter and these are confirmed. First let me say I am not a student of his but if I would study martial arts it would be with him. Mr. Duncan was one of two coaches of the NC Jr. Olympic team along with Mr. Willie McIntosh of Shelby NC. . . two of Mr. Duncans students competed in the Jr. Olympics in Kansas City -bringing home medals that year. Mr. Duncan was the US National Champion in 1988 winning his title in kumite division in Richmond Virginia. Mr. Duncan was the author of "Walk Without Fear" a book for women that was given to over 5, 000 women in his self defense courses contracted by local and national police depts. . (And according to the haters) if he did not know what he was doing why would top names in the entertainment business pay him for his professional protection detail. . . names like Aaron Tipppin, Marshal Tucker Band and John Michael Montgomery just to name a few. Come on people let's be real. . you are jealous of a real martial arts teacher and a man that would give you the shirt off his back-Master Duncan is one fantastic person in my book and will always be teaching great martial arts as long as he wants to.

Mr. Duncan is a great teacher and has a background that supports his teaching. There are lots of jealous people out there that wish they could teach or even maintain a dojo like this man has done for over 30 years-If he was not a true teacher and knowledged then tell me why his law enforcement classes have a waiting list. Idiots that post stupid reviews should be removed I consider that slander from a legal point. Randall Wise-Law enforcement 28 years

Kadaka Ryu is has no history beyond Kim Duncan

What is the kadaka Ryu? I have search Kim Duncan, the kadaka system, and grandmaster Segio kadaka! All I find is info from Kim Duncan website. Is this a made up system by mister Duncan? If you search tang soo do on google history will come up, jujitsu and other real martial arts, there is nothing for kadaka other then being a sub-district in Tallinn and what do you have against jujitsu? because most of his web site list some saying something against and not being realistic it or mma gyms, the facts are mister Duncan has created his of system and his own grandmaster to make his system sound legit, i can not find any info on him couching any jr Olympic team, I talk to more then one of his previous students that have bad thing to say about him and the lies he tells that he can't back up, most of the names in your testimonials sound like you wrote them they all list "realistic" but realistically jujitsu is us by us military special operations forces/ army rangers/ delta force / police departments/ and thousand of other agencies because it don't work in real life situation. Stop spreading bull crap, the internet is a very strong tool against lies

Master Kim Duncan is the highest ranked American under the late Grand master Segio Kadaka -Master Duncans Lincolnton studio is the world headquarters for this martial art. Master Duncan has not authorized anyone else in the state of NC to teach the Kadaka system outside of his studio in Lincolnton located at 206 South Laurel Street-anyone that claims to teach the Kadaka system and /or uses the name Kadaka will be in violation of a trademarked name and will be punished b

For the review idiot that says this place is a hole in the wall you must be one of the backyard mma idiots-Sato method is recognized by the US military and founded by Master Sato of Japan-so get your little facts straight.I come to Lincolnton twice a month from South Carolina to train with master Duncan due to his outstanding knowledge-I was actually referred to him by the Hatsumi group out of Japan. He trains everyone with great pride and respect he does alot more than roll around in a cage believe me just go and check him out and you will see.

Traditional Martial Arts Instruction At Its Best

To call Mr. Duncans Dojo a "hole in the wall" is a compliment. The "hole in the wall" dojos are where you find not only the traditional teachings but its also where you'll find instructors who care more about the martial arts than money which is a rare thing these days. Mr. Duncan's classes include a wide range of styles and his vast knowledge is something that always inspired me. Mr. Duncan is one of a kind and his interest in making you the best martial artist you can be is complimented by his genuine concern in making you the best person you can be. If you're interested in becoming a member of a martial arts family not just another student of a martial arts school start your search here.

Its an ok school for a normal hole-in-the-wall type dojo, but they claim to teach Sambo, Savate, and something called "Sato Judo" which isn't even a martial art. Always annoys me when a dojo claims to teach styles that it doesn't. If all you do is karate, be proud of that! Don't lie to prospective students.
