I began training with Sifu Chris Kent in May of 1999 just shortly after he opened his school here in Boise. I wrestled in high school and had received my black belt in Tae Keon Do after four years of training three days a week. When I started my training with Sifu Kent I had learned more in 6 mos from boxing, Thai boxing, trapping, ground fighting, lock and submission and weapons from the Filipino Kali than I learned in four years in Tae Kwon do!!! I continue to train with Sifu Chris Kent and am proud to have become a associate instructor under him and have found that his master teaching ability has been huge in helping me be a better martial artist personally, and inspires me to be able to replicate his approach when it comes to teaching and passing on the ability to truly defend oneself and honor the legacy of Sifu Kent, Guro Dan Inosanto and the late Bruce Lee.
