ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Senior Instructor James T. Faasse, a 4th Degree Black Belt, has studied martial arts for 40 years ranging from Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Kickboxing, Arnis, Escrima, Kali and JKD to name a few with his base art being 28 years in Chinese Kenpo Karate.

KENPO KARATE, at GRAND RAPIDS MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY, is packed with lots of practical self defense moves like punching and kicking combinations based on circular and linear lines of defense and attack and helps improve balance, endurance, flexibility and coordination. Faasse, the creator of KENPO MARTIAL ART SYSTEMS , leads each class guiding you through each exercise drill and instructs you how to perform each self defense movement with precision and control.

Kenpo offers a non-stop cardio vascular workout that will increase your aerobic endurance, burn calories and promote heart health. Kenpo Karate uses Martial Arts techniques fused into each warm-up drill, giving you a well-rounded core workout, since you will utilize your abs to lift your legs during kicks, and twist the obliques during punches. Also, Kenpo Karate will help increase flexibility, since the workouts involve Ancient Chinese Karate Forms with martial art moves for self defense.
