We have attended this dojo for just over a year. The instruction methods of sensi Melendez are somethig to witness. You can literally see your child grasping concepts like patience and respect and at the same time become proficient in the art of karate.

Class after class I sit and marvel at my grandson's behavior and efforts as Sensi Melendez requires different things from him. My grandson has developed such respect for his Sensi that he is always eagar to please.

If your goal when enrolling your child in any martial arts program is to have a emotional and physically fit child with a realistic grasp of karate then I would especially recommend The Karate Studio and teachings of Sensi Nelson Melendez.

If you are looking for a quick, easy black belt, this is not the place for you. However, if you want a school that will give you a well-grounded education in the Martial Arts, you've definitely come to the right place. Be prepared to work harder than you ever have in your life, but you will love every minute of it. Sensei Nelson is a fantastic teacher, his students love him, the parents of the students are very supportive....I couldn't recommend a better place in the Myrtle Beach area.
