When I found this group, I was searching for a martial art that really works for self defense. There are alot of styles out there that seem to focus on the sport side of things. What I really wanted was to find a system that can be used in a real situation. This is it!!! This style seems to really focus on weapons ( such as knives and sticks) and bare hands fighting. The instructor has a background in Muay Thai and boxing styles and techniques. Which leads to a very explosive style and realistic training.

These guys are some really great people and are easy to get along with. I haven't been here very long but I know this is what I've been looking for. I think I will be here for a long time.

Fun reality based concepts.

Found KSMA online while looking for Kali\Silat classes. Being the beginning of my martial arts journey I did not really know what to expect. What i took away from that 1st class was amazing.

The class is always in high spirit, and it is just a fun environment. The instruction is fantastic and every one is open to learn.

If you are someone like me who has an EDC regardless the reason. You should know how to use it. If you don't, I would really recommend looking into KSMA, come and try it out.

Being a reality based system it is not limited to edged weapons. I have only been there for a short time, and we have worked on unarmed, edged and blunt objects.

If you are looking to defend your self or just want to have some fun, check them out, you won't regret it.

I have been taking this class for about two months and first thing I love about it is that it is relaxed enough I feel comfortable, but the training I am learning I catch myself doing it more at home in free time so that I am ready for the next class. I enjoy that I get one on one training and am able to refine what a learn to where I have it down as more muscle memory from training so much. Jay is an excellent instructor and look forward to every class I can take.

Nothing but praise for Guro Jay! Being the first art that I've ever trained in, it refreshing that Jay breaks everything down and really makes the concepts easy to understand. The class is a pleasure to go to and I would highly recommend checking the school out.
