MMA This is what I would call being taught how to fight, disable, disarm, and win quickly in order to save yourself and others in real life situations. The Dojo is run by Kevin Hancey, a humble and common sense man, that is committed to your learning, a third degree bb under Charles Gaylord, and certified by Master Toddy in Muay Thai.
The Dojo does lots of Sparring, hitting, MT type drills, 1/3rd Kajukenbo "hard style." Gaylord method and MT blend well. You can expect bruising even with protective gear while learning your real life skills on how to fight and survive when being attacked.
This place is a 9 to 10 for learning.
Half cage and mat area big bags, gloves and hand pads
The school has an open, supportive but challenging instruction,
and workouts are pretty tough, with much combo on guy with body and hand pads, then combo + another technique for a half hour, then maybe a variation for another half hour, sparring, grappling, this place does it all. No dancing. This is real street defense. There is some JJ and Judo in Kaju at a very high improvisational level. I have been going for over 1 month and I have learned more here in 1 month than I learned elsewhere in a year. I get the one one one that I need from an Instructor that cares enough to spend the time. That is priceless to me.
