I have been a student here for 3 years now, and all I can say is that it has been an amazing experience! I heard about the school way before then, and I had seen some demonstrations (including the Apple Blossom Parade). Ki Fighting Concepts extracts essential elements/concepts from various arts across the world. This includes but is not limited to: Classical & Non-Classical Wing Chung Kung Fu, Kenpo Karate, Muay Thai, Pentjak Silat Serak, Doce Pares, and more. The owner & Head instructor, Sifu Joseph Simonet, has over 40 years of martial arts training, and currently obtains a ninth degree black belt in Al Tracy's Kenpo Karate system.
I studied with Joe starting in 1988. I was his first Black Belt. I attended classes that he taught foe three years and studied privately at his home gym for about two years.
Joe is the most knowledgeable Martial Artist that I have ever known.
He was and has always been on the path of improving the functionability of technique.
His power and speed were astounding. During training Joe could have easily intimidated or hurt us physically but had complete control. So many of the lessons that I learned from Joe can be applied to my everyday life. Study with Joe Simonet and you will be in the presence of a true masters master. I will go so far as to say a genius of martial arts.
