Jung Kwon Academy is the WNC regional HQ school for the Jun Tong Traditional Tae Kwon Do Federation. The head instructor is Porter Hughes (Rec/4th Dan); a military veteran with 8 years in covert operations (including several combat deployments overseas), and 11 years in Corporate/Inductrial Security management and training.
We teach old-style Chung Do Kwan Tae kwon Do, as it was first created some 70 years ago. Original Chung Do Kwan TKD has it's roots in various Asian martial arts, including Shaolin Kung Fu, Northern Chinese Long Fist, Judo, Jujitsu, Hapkido and Shotokan Karate - to name a few. Our training style reflects those roots, and we use the original style of movement seen in Asia before the art was introduced to the US.
