Great place and highly skilled instructors. We like coming here and I think this is a great place to start learning even though you are not a kid anymore. They have evening classes for adults, which it is worth trying.

So, let’s be honest. Everyone has been/tried this place is firstly impressed with the gym, the young masters and staff, and all in all it seems like a great experience. Until the inevitable happens…. We’ve been going for years there, but let me tell you, the old Chong is an uncontrollable, rage, mad, hypocrite and mood shifting abuser towards the innocent, scared and fragile children. Let’s just tell the truth. To all those who write reviews for money: he is not affiliated with none of the reputable international Tae Kwon Do Associations. Unfortunately. Not because this would matter, but he has no respect, teaching skills or compassion what so ever. He is a self made 9th degree (never heard of) and keeps the place filled with his pictures… He constantly humiliates kids and parents to feed his humongous ego and his thirst for submission. I have seen a lot of masters and I can tell the old man Chong is nothing like them: you have to respect to demand respect, never bully the innocent and take responsibility for your own mistakes. He has none of the above. Kids are terrified and become after a while submissive little creature that will keep their silence. Do yourself a service and teach their kids that they have a voice, they can be heard and it is not OK for anyone to intimidate them, to make them cry or send them into depression for the test of their lives. Be the parent! Don’t get me wrong, he can do whatever he wants, but without the yelling, humiliating and bullying. However, he is what he is: a man why forces little girl ls to use the water fountain located in the men’s locker room, next to the men’s shower, and puts a poster of an “R” rated movie in the girls’ locker room( a movie where his line is “you need to get laid, I’m going to help you get laid”).

Anyway, as an adult student I avoid the old Chung whenever I could.

All the other real masters are great human beings, respectful and compassionate and they actually keep this place running.

Great martial arts studios for children and adults

I like the studio because they have a good martial arts curriculum for adults and children, consistent discipline in teaching and it can take a student from beginner to master level. The school is recognized by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF)and the International Hapkido Federation. Grandmaster Chong still upholds the values and traditions of the martial arts and believes that the practice of taekwondo enhances the longevity and quality of life. This school has been around since 1973 and still going strong. On Wilshire Blvd., half a block west of Crescent Hts.
