Save your money. Go study a real martial art. Joe is a businessman. Not saying that's bad, but promotes way too easily and will do anything to keep you coming back.

Trained with Joe back in the day. He's good but the years have taken their toll. Joe is a businessman and I don't damn him for that but he promotes too easily and his black belts suck. Google 2008 WKKA Black Belt test. It's pathetic. If you want good instruction go to Shotokan Karate Club of Maryland. One exit down on the beltway from Joe and you'll learn real self defense and real power. It's a shame, Joe is legit but he'll do anything to keep the doors open. ..........Black Belt Club. .......promote even if you're not ready, etc. Kenpo is flashy sales pitch, that's it. Whenever we did the "Circle" where attacks were spontaneous, I always did a traditional technique and stopped the attack. Kenpo techniques never worked and were a waste of time.

The previous reviewer has sour grapes. I studied with Joe and he is legit. As far as Tom Kelly is concerned, and I studied with him as well when he was with Joe, Tom is from Oklahoma, not Utah, so shows how little the other reviewer knows. Probably pissed because he wasn't good enough to pass his belt test. I certainly wouldn't mess with Joe and I've been doing martial arts a long time.

Studied with Palanzo when Tom Kelly came over from Utah. Tom was disgusted that Joe promoted people just to keep them coming back and paying him. Tom went back to Utah he was so fed up. Palanzo wanted to make me an instructor at blue belt level! Anything to keep the money rolling in. As a low ranked, traditional karateka, I could kick the sh*t out of his black belts in sparring. What a joke. Palanzo is a disgrace.

A total joke. Palanzo is only interested in making a buck. Techniques are weak and his higher belts are an embarassament.
