The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do has been in Jasper since 1993. We specialize in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do for self defense, in addition to being a great work out for both strength and cardio fitness. We are also associated with the Tae Kwon Do Chung Do Kwon Association based in Louisville, Ky, under the guidance of Grand Master Young Sik Choi, 9th Degree Black Belt.
Instructors at the Jasper school are Master Stan Keepes, 6th Degree Black Belt, Master Marc Campbell, 5th Degree Black Belt, Master Lewis Montgomery, 5th Degree Black Belt, Ed Messmer, 2nd Degree Black Belt and Scott Brandt, 2nd Degree Black Belt. Along with the Grand Master, they have combined for over 170 years of experience in the practice and instruction of Tae Kwon Do and other martial arts.
The Jasper School of Tae Kwon Do also works to help each student with self confidence, moral obligations with learning a martial art and discipline. Students are also taught about respect for each other. We study more than just self defense. Students also learn the history about this martial art, back to it's foundation. We study the terminology in both the English and Korean language. The study of pressure points is emphasized, along with discussions on how your body can both physically and mentally react in pressure/self defense situations. We strive to bring this all together for a well rounded learning experience.
