Japan Karate Association (JKA) Hawaii is the only official Hawaii branch of the JKA. With branches in over 100 countries, the JKA is the world’s largest and most prestigious karate organization. As the “Keeper of Karate’s Highest Tradition,” JKA Hawaii takes the advanced teachings of Shotokan karate and incorporates them into each karate class. No other organization approaches karate with greater intensity of purpose or structure.
JKA Hawaii's lead instructor, Sensei Maeda, is a 6th degree black belt--a rank held by very few. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. JKA Hawaii offers karate classes for kids as well as for adults. He has been instructing karate for over 30 years.
