Since beginning my training in karate, I have become a permanent fixture at this dojo. All the instructors are amazing, knowledgeable, and well-rounded. I receive practical training in karate fundamentals, as well as philosophy and a complete understanding of karate. Because the instructors are great at what they do, my fellow students are fantastic also. I would recommend JKI to anyone.

This school is an awesome place to be. It is the perfect place to learn self defense, socialize and learn to live a healthier and mor controlled lifestyle.

To put it simply, Japan Karate Institute in my home away from home, and everyone there is like a second family to me. The instructors and students are all very welcoming to new students and those eager to train.
JKI is the ONLY traditional Karate school that I know of in Winston-Salem, and offers very thorough and authentic martial arts training for both adults and children.
I have been studying at JKI since 2006. What sets it apart from many other dojo's is that the school is more like a club of people who truly love learning the art. Emphasis is on excellence and understanding rather than on more material considerations.
