Outstanding dojo. A great blend of traditional martial arts, physical fitness, and real world applications, all in a positive and friendly setting. Great workout, great camaraderie, superb instruction. Highly recommended.

I've been training at JSKA Rochester for almost 5 years, and my son has been training there for 7 years. Sensei Hunt is an extremely knowledgeable teacher, who is able to break down instruction of techniques for the most novice student, yet delve into very technical details with his advanced students. The club has a large, stable base of students, allowing us to develop bonds both in and out of the dojo. The school is family-friendly, with many families who have two or more family members enrolled. The senior students are accommodating and helpful for the junior students. Ego is left at the door and everyone is accepted no matter where they are on their journey. If you're interested in a program that will actually teach you karate, will challenge you to improve yourself, is welcoming to beginners and advanced students alike, and is run by a top-notch instructor, JSKA Rochester is the place for you.
Bad place, arrogant, rude, unaeducated instructor. Do not waste time here. Stay away from this place !
