This dojo specializes in teaching Shotokan Karate to children. The sensei is an WKF and PKF licensed international referee/judge. Her focus on etiquette, proper technique, and self discipline results in a school that provides good training as well as character development.
My elementary/middle school age children have been there since they were 3 and 4 and among other things have learned to set ambitious long term goals and work toward reaching them. As they have grown in skill and competed at the national and international levels, the discipline and focus required has grown proportionally, which has not always been easy, but is a valuable life lesson.
The dojo's competition team allows serious students to develop their skills to compete at the highest levels. It is amazing how good the serious kids get when they reach their teen years! Team members have won numerous medals in their age groups in the advanced division at the USA National Karate-do Federation, National Championships. Five students earned spots on the USA National Karate Federation Junior Karate Team between 2009 and 2011. In the 2009 and 2010 Pan American Junior Karate Championships team members won 3 medals.

My elementary/middle school age children have been studying there since they were 3 and 4 and among other things have learned to set ambitious long term goals and work patiently toward reaching them. As they have reached for higher levels, the discipline and focus required has grown proportionally, which has not always been easy, but is a hugely valuable life lesson.
The organization is affiliated with the USA National Karate Federation and the US Olympic Committee, providing a pathway for serious students to compete at the National, Pan American and World levels. The dojo has a small competition team that has had good success at developing children's skills to compete at the national / international levels. It is amazing how good these kids can get when they reach their early teen years! Team members have won numerous medals in their age groups in the advanced (blackbelt) division at the USA National Karate-do Federation, National Championships. In the last 3 years, five students earned spots on the elite USA National Karate Federation - US Junior Karate Team, three took home medals in the Pan American Junior Karate Championships, and one placed fifth in the world.
I'd say that these kinds of results speak for the program.
