Genbu-Kai Karate in Wellington, FL is the most authentic, traditional, Okinawan Dojo that I have encountered. Sensei Moore takes the art, his Dojo and his students extremely seriously. As a student of Shito-Ryu, I know that I am experiencing the best training that the Martial art can offer. Sensei Moore's years of experience, his teaching abilities and his patience pay off with each new class and each new lesson learned. A student of Karate couldn't be in better hands. I am thrilled that I found this Dojo and I'm looking forward to years of training, eventually achieving my Black Belt in Shito-Ryu.

Cool dojo to train with!

After watching my stepson take classes, and was able to see how much fun he was having. I decided to join classes with him, as more of a bonding experience. Now i'm over 30lbs lighter,have more energy, and more focused at the office.

my son has been taking karate lessons here for almost a year now and his self esteem and confidence has soared. this has been a great learning experince for him.

My daughter has studied Shito-Ryu at GenbuKai for a year and a half and has done extremely well here. Because of her progress, it has encouraged my husband, who is a black belt in another style of karate, to take classes in several different areas of Shito-Ryu as well. Sensei Moore expects the students to do their best and pushes them to do so in an encouraging manner. It is evident that Sensei, his wife, Karen and daughter, Maritsa care about their students and treat them like family. I am very pleased to have found Florida GenbuKai for our family.

Since I've started going to Genbu Kai I've gained self confidence and amazing self defense techniques. Along with the genuine Japanese teachings that most dojos do not offer. There is really a great family environment and I would recommend it to anyone, even for just great cardio, balance and muscle building.

I had been in martial arts for several of my earlier years in my early 20's in tae kwon do. I met Sensei Keith Moore a year and a half ago at his L.b.S Dojo and wasnt sure I would be able to do it any more as I need two knee replacements and have arthritise through out my other joints and I am 56 years old. After watching him train his students I realized how sincere and dedicated he was. I didnt think I could do it as I have very limited range of motion in my legs and have lost alot of muscle in my thighs I started and have been with him a year and a half my knees feel better and I have built up some of the lost muscles in my thighs he is the reason I keep it going his wife and daughter are just as dedicated to all the students when you go there you feel like it is a family every body treats you like family

My son has been taking Karate here for about five months now. He has always been a good kid but he has also always let his friends walk all over him. Since he started Karate he is more focused, more confident, and he has learned how to stand up for himself with his friends. The instructors are very caring and give the kids individualized attention. I was not sure my son would enjoy this class at first but Sensei was so good with him that he eased him out of his nervousness and now we go four times a week and my son loves every minute of it.

I have taken karate instruction for many years but this the first time where learning is first and egos do not exist. A great place to learn from a patient and skilled instructor.

Karate has increased my son's confidence level tremendously. He now knows how to defend himself. The infusion of the Japenese language and culture have added an extra challenge that my son loves. Sensei and Karen treat everyone as family and take a vested interested in the children's lives including their home and school. We have not seen this trait in other dojos. My son's quote, "It's super fun!" sums up his own feelings.

My daughter has been with Genbu-Kai of Florida for a year and the transformation in her has been amazing. Not only is she learning self defense, she is also learning life skills that she applies to her every day life. Respect, discipline, courteous in mannors and towards others, and the self esteam and courage to reach her goals whether it be in the dojo or in her every day life....
