Ive been a member of Ivey League Mix Martial Arts for 8 months now and I could not have made a better choice.
I moved to Maryland due to the Army and wanted to lose weight and learn something new in the process. Im glad i did, its one of the best decisions Ive made.
After a internet search I found Ivey League and gave them a call. Right from the start they answered in a professional yet personal manner. I talk to one of the employees and got a invite to come check watch one of the class and talk about the programs they offer.
I was excited because it was then in Severna Park which was close to where I lived in Glen Burnie. After a few months they moved to Arnold which was at a bigger location and started offering move class that fit my crazy shift work schedule. I felt a good vibe from the staff and other students, so Ive been happy ever since.
My first class was rough for me I was nervous that with my lack of experience I would slow the class down and would be subject to the dirty eye, but that was not the case. They had other beginners in class and the coaches helped catch me up on the monthly curriculum.
Now Im taking Muay Thai, BJJ, and Wrestling to get a well rounded MMA game.
I can't wait for my son to be old enough be part of the kids programs, when he is 4 so that it becomes a father and son thing. I also recommend the kids programs, this kids have a blast in class and get a good workout while learning something that can help them in the future.
I have been fighting with Ivey League for over a year about the remaining balance on my sons/my account. My son left the facility for a number of reasons:
My husband was speaking to a staff member who told him what he wanted to do to High School girls for a good 30 minutes and my son is a type one diabetic with some complications. Ivey league has been very nasty and is suing me for the remainder of my contract.
BEWARE of staff not a safe place for children-
Spoke to management and they are aware of this problem and dont care.
