International Karate Academy teaches karate and more! Attending this school has literally changed my life. Not only have I learned a great deal about the martial arts, but I have also learned a lot about myself. IKA teaches a traditional martial arts style (Shotokan) that incorporates punches, kicks, and blocks, and students learn how to master these techniques through practice in the form of drills, kata, and sparring. Instructors teach students how to defend themselves, recognizing the practical application of their skills. Since Shotokan is a traditional style, students spend time meditating and learning the importance of focus, discipline, and self-control. Students gain confidence and a sense of humility at the same time. At this dojo, you EARN your black belt, and you become a better and stronger person and member of the community along the way.
