Inochi Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts
Established in 2010, Inochi Mixed Martial Arts (IMMA) provides a place where one can learn martial arts, have fun in the experience, make a commitment to that training and to use the knowledge as a stepping stone to an improved self, family, community and life. Get ready to embark on an experience that will last a lifetime through one of our exciting programs designed specifically with you and your family in mind.
Inochi’s founder, Paul Haben began his studies in martial arts in 1988, receiving his Shodan Ranking in Jukido in 1995 and later his Yodan Ranking in Jukido in 2015. He also holds a Black Belt Ranking in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which he received after 9 years in training in 2015, and with 25 plus years training and teaching Judo was awarded his Nidan ranking in 2017. Mr. Haben still competes and trains with all 3 of his original instructors and continues to pursue the foundational principle of integration, continued learning and refinement in Martial Arts for maximum effectiveness.
We believe in honoring the traditions of the arts and allowing those traditions to temper the individual but not limit the individual. With that in mind, Mr. Haben has and still continues to train in a variety of other combat systems incorporating the effective and applicable technique into the Inochi system. Inochi is not unique in its concept however it is unique in its implementation. Every class is a fresh look at continuing to advance in each student’s technique, character, effectiveness, self-control, composure, self-discipline, confidence and many, many more attributes that lead to success in martial arts yes, but more importantly in life.

Programs & Class Schedule
Lil’ Dragons (4-6 years old)
Many people doubt that children as young as 4 years old can accomplish much more than looking cute in a martial arts uniform, and while they are very good at being cute, they are great students too. At IMMA we have developed classes and fun drills that are designed to focus and draw out the best in your child. Our Lil’ Dragons are learning amazing skills for self-defense and skills for life at the same time. The ability of a child to focus will propel them in everything they set their mind to accomplish in life. The self-discipline and self-awareness they learn will give them the confidence to overcome obstacles for the rest of their life. The knowledge that they accomplished the goal set in class will show them how to accomplish anything they set their mind to. What a great gift for your child!
Inochi Kids (7-12 years old)
This is a life changing, special experience for your child. Your 7-12 year old is growing up and becoming the person that they will be for the rest of their life. They are also learning how to become independent at school, sporting and academic functions and all of the things our kids are involved in. This makes them more vulnerable as they leave your watchful eye and the ability and confidence to make right choices and – if necessary – to defend themselves is a must in today’s world. This is an important time in a child’s life where a good influence can get them and keep them on the right track. A qualified Black Belt instructor commands respect and is looked up to by young people from all backgrounds. We have the unique opportunity to influence the way a young person sees him or herself, and can teach them how to defend themselves from physical, emotional, moral and verbal attacks. Your child will learn how to carry themselves in confidence and awareness outside of the home and academy through our Be A.W.A.R.E. and S.T.O.P. Bullying program. This program is designed to help kids recognize dangers associated with bullying and cyber-bullying. The program addresses topics such as how to identify a bullying situation, how to respond and prevent such behavior, and what consequences are involved. Every day too many children miss school due to fear of bullies. Less than 15% of kids actually report being bullied or even deal with it for fear of reprisal. Your child will focus on developing awareness along with non-violent tools of addressing being bullied or helping others who are. In addition your child will learn a balanced approach to defending themselves in a character building, fun and engaging class. Aside from the tremendous health benefits, the classes also teach them important moral values; the longest standing tradition of the martial arts. They learn to honor their loved ones, to take care of each other, and to develop honorable social skills. Being a part of our program gives them a sense of belonging and obligation to do what is right, which will give them a superior advantage as they become adolescents and adults.
You will learn to fight, defend yourself, and all of the other things that quality academies offer but you will also grow as an individual in ways that you never thought possible. Inochi was designed with YOU in mind, Your safety, Your health, Your physical well-being, Your family and Your community. You will be challenged and pushed to your limits and beyond while being encouraged to press higher by your new found friends and family. At Inochi Mixed Martial Arts we understand that the journey towards becoming effective and efficient in Martial Arts is a long one, however the journey to learn is never ending. The friends you make here will become family as you push each other to be your best throughout the years. Inochi’s Mixed Martial Arts program is designed for those looking to begin training in martial arts or looking to become more complete in their martial arts training. We not only give you the foundation you need to be successful in martial arts but the transitional tools you will need to apply the techniques you will learn in a variety of situations. At Inochi Mixed Martial Arts we believe in recognizing the effectiveness of traditional training methods but not being limited by them. Although we recognize and learn the names of techniques we do not focus on the names as much as focusing on what will work best for the moment at hand. We incorporate both the old and new and continually strive to evaluate the effectiveness of what we teach and modify along the way. Whether you want to learn to defend yourself in the street or compete in the ring, it is necessary to train both in the Gi (Kimono) and without it in basically Three Ranges of Fighting: Standup, Clinch and Ground.
