Inner Strength Martial Arts is a community-oriented mixed martial arts school that has been active in Leechburg for over 30 years. In our scenic, isolated location at the top of Lovers Leap Road, we pride ourselves on teaching real-world applications of martial arts and self-defense skills, as well as instilling respect, dignity, self-confidence, and civic pride in all of our students.
Our founder and executive director, Dr. Ted Cibik, has been a practitioner and teacher of the martial arts since 1965. He holds advanced black belts in three systems, and upper belt ranking in a variety of styles. He holds a PhD in Martial Arts Movement Kinesiology and is a Daoist priest of the Jade Purity tradition. Dr. Cibik teaches our internal martial arts and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) classes, as well as maintaining his Chinese medicine practice at our on-site clinic. School Manager and Lead Instructor Patrick Kessler has been a student of Dr. Cibik since 1994, a certified Medical Qigong Therapist since 2007, and a professional educator since 2010. In addition to his training at Inner Strength, he has studied Changchuan gongfu in Taipei, Tang Soo Do in Seoul, and Wudang gongfu at Wudang Mountain.
At Inner Strength, we provide a practical and well-rounded martial arts education at a low monthly price of $60 that is locked in upon joining. There are no contracts to sign, no extra fees beyond purchasing a uniform and $40 to test for promotion, and no requirements to test.
