Ikikata Judo Club
Ikikata Judo Club focuses on traditional Judo, "Kano Jujitsu", and self-defense as established by Professor Jigoro Kano in 1882. We are a chartered USJA Club, and our head sensei is a member of the USJA Development Committee. What tends to separate Ikikata Judo Club from many other great clubs is our strong emphasis on the higher principle of Judo, (Big Judo) and its ethical and moral development. While Judo's Nage-waza (Throwing), Katame-waza (grappling techniques), and even Atemi-waza (striking) are a very important part of our curriculum, we strive to emphasize the moral and ethical principles as well. Making our clubs focus on the LIFE LONG practice of the essence, and complete art of Judo, and its prescribed "Way of Life".
