I wanted to take the time to tell you about myself and what journey I traveled that took me to become an instructor. I am a Westminster resident, and have resided here in carroll county since 2014. I own a small detective agency and spend my free time instructing students at the local YMCA the art of ju-jitsu.
In the year 2000, while at the Towson Festival, I saw a few Jujitsukas, (ones who study the art of Ju-Jitsu), performing various judo throws and Ju-Jitsu techniques and thought this may benefit both physically and mentally.
After contacting Professor John Dennis McCurdy, the head instructor, now a 10th degree black belt, (now retired), and FORMER AJA President, (American Ju-Jitsu Association), I joined his Towson Daitobukan Dojo located at the Towson YMCA. Over the next 12 years, Dennis, Terry Feelymeyer, and Paul Klara passed on to me the skills needed to become a successful instructor.
I teach traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu, which incorporates Judo, Aikido, Karate, grappling, joint locks, throws, chokes, nerve attacks, striking, kicking, weapons defense and much more. THIS IS NOT MMA. We do not perform any strikes to the face, and all strikes are done to improve technique, not cause injury to your Uke, (training partner).
I hope my training, both physically and mentally will be passed onto you, and Ju-Jitsu not only becomes something you do , but a way of life.
