I too am amazed at this style of karate. They had a 18 yr old 2nd degree black belt from a tkd school come over to fight one of their 12 yr old black belt candidates for a rank test. Admittedly the 12 yr old was larger than average but damn. The bout was only one 30 second round and the tkd black belt limped out with a swelling black eye and a swollen knee. The 12 yr old seemed unscathed when he came out of the dojang.

HonRuKwan is a dangerous martial art. Its full contact and not a point fighting style. Ive seen lots of defensive karate before but this is the first time i've seen something so highly aggressive. HonRuKwan's instructor is a real Master in HonRuKwan, TaeKwonDo and HapKiDo. He is good with children and seriously knows his stuff.

Master Lee's Hon Ryu Kwan studio teaches a genuine hard style combat karate. Similar to Mas Oyama's Kyukoshin karate with moves reminiscent of South Korean Special Forces hand to hand combat training, Hon Ryu Kwan is geared toward inflicting a maximum amount of damage on your opponent in as little time as possible.

Warning: This is NOT a sport karate or Tae Kwon Do. Throwing TKD high kicks at a Hon Ryu Kwan practioner will get your support leg brkoen at the ankle.

Its that kind of karate.
