This class makes me incredibly fit, I've slimmed down since I started. The first half warm up is intense enough to count as a cardio workout, which all of us need to feel truly fit. The second half of class is self defense. The basics are self defense against an attacker choking, grabbing your arms or wrists, trying to bear hug you or tackle you to the ground. It's very different from the usual class of kicks/punches/katas/tournament sparring of a Tae Kwon Do or karate style. I have taken about four different styles in my lifetime, and I really think this one is the most practical. It's the one law enforcement learns which should tell you something. The Roswell Budokan is easily the best dojo I have ever trained in, its huge open air space is unlike didging the columns in a strip mall karate school...been there, done that, have the T shirt :)
