I am this Man's former teacher. Once he was promoted he became arrogant and self important and was demoted. Something i have never done before and i have been in Martial Arts for 44 years with a linage dating back to WWII. He is well trained and talks a good game but he has chosen to be a con man instead of earning his way. He is very disrespectful to me,his former Master Instructor and Hapkido,my life's work. Ask him about where he learned. I assure you he will get quite defensive and have many excuses. To support him is a dis-service to Hapkido. He calls himself Kyosanim. An assistant instructor. Who does he assist other than his own ego?

I have been training there for a year. I have learned so many aspects of martial art. Hapkido is truely intergrated combative art. It mixed with punching, kicking, grappling, throwing and joint lock. It prepares you dealing with various situations. For example, You can deal with judo person or boxer since you already learn punching and throwing from Hapkido.

The instructor Isler is very enthusiastic and devotive with what he does. He teachs you universal principle, not just particular technique. He will provide you bigger picture so you can grasp deeper understanding.

Most importantly, we are not only here to learn self-defense but also to learn how to become a better person.

I was a little hesitant prior to going since I've never done anyform of martial arts and i'm 25 but I'm glad I did. He went as slow and thorough as needed for me as a beginner yet he is very skilled watching him with his advanced students. An amazing workout and a lot of fun doing it.

I am in my mid 40's and used to study Hapkido more than 8 years ago. While I enjoyed it alot,I had accrued some injuries over the years and felt that my time doing martial arts was over. But, Michael convinced me to try again and promised to work around my injuries. I took a chance mainly because I figured with his Massage Therapy and Physical Therapy background he would know how to work around my injuries better than anyone! He is a great teacher with a knack for noticing nuances and straightening out any bad technique before it escalates into injury. He has amazing technical skill and insight into what is effective in any self-defense situation. His class is intense and focuses on training the whole body and I walk out of every session exhausted from head to toe. I never know whether I will be kicking, punching, sparring, grappling, doing joint locks or all of the above- it is fun and challenging and totally worth it!
